Admissions Desk Volunteers - Potteric Carr, Doncaster

To provide a friendly welcome to visitors at the reception desk. You will also help with directions, chat to people about the trust, take entrance moneys and help with the shop

Commitment: Flexible, but a regular weekly or fortnightly commitment would be helpful
Duration: Ongoing

Education and Events Assistants - Potteric Carr, Doncaster

Assisting with the development and delivery of a range of environmental education activities, including pond dipping, art and craft activities and nature related games and trails.  Creating informal education materials/resources and responsibility for upkeep of equipment and materials.

Commitment: Flexible, but a regular commitment of at least once a month
Duration: Ongoing

Water Vole Surveyors - Goole, Doncaster and Barnsley

Looking for field signs, recording findings and making environmental observations. Full training will be provided in April; limited places.

Commitment: Regular surveys each week over the spring and summer
Duration: Spring and summer 2012

Conservation Volunteers - Doncaster and Sheffield

To assist the Reserve Officer and Field Officer in the day-to-day management of nature reserves for the benefit of wildlife, conservation and people. Assisting in maintaining paths and a wide variety of practical management works e.g. scrub clearance, raking, fencing, planting, help with tool maintenance and inventory, possible survey work.

Commitment: Once a month or more
Duration: Ongoing

Roving Rangers - Potteric Carr

To provide information, help and interpretation of the site’s features and wildlife to all visitors. The Roving Ranger will be a welcome face to the reserve and act as a walking information point to customers who may be less familiar with the site as well providing that extra inspiration that will help turn a nice walk into a special wildlife experience.

Commitment: Once a week or more if desired
Duration: Ongoing

Cafe Assistants - Potteric Carr

The café at Potteric Carr is a busy centre for visiting bird watchers and families alike. Staff can often be over run with customers, so a helping hand would be most beneficial. You would be serving customers, taking food orders and using the till, some food preparation, clearing pots and washing up, along with talking to people about their visit.

Commitment: Flexible, but a regular weekly or fortnightly commitment is helpful
Duration: Ongoing

Event Fundraisers - South Yorkshire

Would you enjoy running small-scale, fun events in your community that raise funds for wildlife? From a sponsored car wash to a junble sale, you could help local bugs and beasties and have a great time in the process.

Commitment: Very flexible, one event a year or more

Livestock Care Warden - South Yorkshire

Would you enjoy visiting sites with grazing animals to assess their general welfare? Helping us care for the livestock grazing our sites we'll provide training.

Commitment: Flexible, but a regular weekly commitment is ideal
Duration: August - March
